135 days and counting with over 66,000 Michigan families still waiting on their tax refunds
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — Republican nominee for Governor John James slammed eight years of failed Democrat leadership in Lansing after reports revealed that tens of thousands of Michiganders are still waiting for their state tax refunds months after the April deadline.
The latest failure comes as Jocelyn Benson campaigns to continue the same Democrat leadership that has controlled Michigan for the past eight years.

For eight years, Democrats have controlled Michigan and families have paid the price for their incompetence. As of late July, the Michigan Department of Treasury acknowledged that approximately 122,000 taxpayers who filed before the April 15 deadline still had returns in the processing queue. Recent reporting indicates 66,000 Michiganders are still waiting for refunds.
For eight years, Democrats have controlled Michigan’s executive branch, including Jocelyn Benson, who is now overseeing her own election for Governor as Secretary of State. Benson touts her experience in Lansing as a qualification for the job, but the results of Democrat leadership speak for themselves: Michigan has fallen to 46th out of 50 states overall.
