JOHN JAMES MOMENTUM SURGES AFTER DOMINANT DEBATE PERFORMANCE, DEMOCRAT SHERIFF CROSSES PARTY LINES TO ENDORSE

James Earns Major Cross-Party Endorsement, Fires Up Big Crowd in Freeland, and Secures the LIBRE Initiative’s Endorsement

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — John James isn’t slowing down. Just one day after a commanding debate performance where he laid out his vision to turn Michigan around, James continued building momentum across the state, earning a major cross-party endorsement from Democrat Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel, firing up a big crowd in Freeland, and securing the support of the nation’s largest center-right Latino organization.

The message is clear: Michiganders are ready for CHANGE, and John James is bringing people together to deliver it.

In a major show of bipartisan support, Democrat Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel endorsed James for Governor, putting people over politics and making clear that keeping Michigan families safe matters more than party labels.

Federspiel, who has spent 39 years in uniform, praised James’ military service, leadership, and unwavering support for law enforcement.

“What I like about John, he’s a huge supporter of law enforcement here in this community, and we need it here in Saginaw. I believe John’s going to do a great job for us, even from the simple standpoint of law enforcement.”

— Sheriff William Federspiel

The Sheriff also pointed to the support James has earned from law enforcement, including the Police Officers Association of Michigan, which represents his deputies.

“My deputies belong to the Police Officers Association of Michigan, and they have endorsed John, and I think that’s fabulous. I’m supporting them and their beliefs that John’s going to help us as law enforcement here in the state of Michigan.”

— Sheriff William Federspiel

The endorsement adds to James’ overwhelming support from Michigan law enforcement, including the Police Officers Association of Michigan, Fraternal Order of Police, and Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. James’ support among law enforcement is so strong that Jocelyn Benson couldn’t even hold her own law enforcement event without a John James sign outside.

While politicians in Lansing have spent years putting politics first, James is building a coalition of leaders who understand that safe streets, strong communities, and a better future for Michigan are not Republican or Democrat issues. They are MICHIGAN issues.

The momentum didn’t stop there.

In Freeland, James addressed a large crowd at Associated Builders & Contractors of Michigan: Greatness in Construction Reception, delivering his vision to bring good-paying jobs back to Michigan, lower costs for hardworking families, and unleash the potential of the people who BUILT Michigan.

“Too many of you are now spending more time fighting the government than doing your jobs. Fighting red tape that makes no sense. Fighting regulations that serve no purpose. Fighting bureaucrats in Lansing who have never built a thing in their lives telling you how to build Michigan. That ends on my watch.”

— John James

James also earned another major endorsement with the LIBRE Initiative, the nation’s largest center-right Latino organization, reaffirmed its support for his campaign, citing his commitment to lowering costs, expanding opportunity, and removing barriers standing between Michigan families and the American Dream.

The latest endorsements come as James continues to build a broad coalition of Michiganders who are tired of the status quo and ready for leadership that puts PEOPLE FIRST.

After eight years of failed leadership in Lansing, Michigan doesn’t need more of the same. It needs a combat veteran, job creator, and proven leader who knows how to get the job done. John James will deliver for Michigan.

The James campaign will continue building momentum across the state ahead of the second gubernatorial debate, hosted by WDIV in Detroit on Thursday, October 15 at 8:00 PM, where James will once again lay out his vision to turn Michigan around.
